Chickamauga

Well we had a little fun along the Chickamauga…
The Chickama’…the Chickama’…the Chickamauga.
And we laughed when they fell along the Chickamauga…
The Chickama’…the Chickama’…the Chickamauga.

Looky here boys and tell me what you see…
Is that a squirrel, or a coon, or a Yankee in the tree?
Well I’ll bet you a dollar when I shoot you’ll hear a yell…
And see a “Bluebelly” fallin’ like an apple in the pail.

And we had a little fun along the Chickamauga…
The Chickama’…the Chickama’…the Chickamauga.
And we drank a little rum along the Chickamauga…
The Chickama’…the Chickama’…the Chickamauga.

Hey little girl when I passed ye’ on the street…
I could tell you was the kind my mama told me not to meet.
N’ if I get back to Dalton gonna give my heart to you
And see little darling if what mama said was true!

And we brawled through the pines along the Chickamauga…
The Chickama’…the Chickama’…the Chickamauga.
And we shot’m when they ran along the Chickamauga…
The Chickama’…the Chickama’…the Chickamauga.

I been in “Virginny” for the past three years…
And I lost a lot of friends and I cried a lot of tears.
Rollin’ home sweet Georgia on a southbound train
For another round of killin’ and another dose of pain.

Break- Repeat Verse.

Well we had a little fun along the Chickamauga…
The Chickama’…the Chickama’…the Chickamauga.
And we laughed when they fell along the Chicamauga.
The Chickama'...the Chickama'...the Chickamaguga...

The Chickama'...the Chickama'...the Chickamauga.
